HTC continues to try to return to its glory days in the mobile industry unveiled the intermediary phones Desire 20 Pro and the U20 5G. While the first model arrives to fight in the intermediate segment, the second smartphone is the company’s new bet on the handset market with the new mobile connection standard.
In addition to bringing HTC to the 5G handset market, the U20 has attractive specifications for the premium intermediate segment. The phone arrives with a large 6.8-inch Full HD + screen, which has a hole in the upper left corner to hold the 32 MP selfie camera.
At the rear, the device has four cameras, bringing a 48 MP main sensor that comes with 8 MP wide solutions, 2 MP for depth and 2 MP for Macro images. The set has support for recording in 4K and brings details in gold, a color that also appears on one of the device’s buttons.
The specifications of HTC’s 5G smartphone also include the Snapdragon 765G processor, 5,000 mAh battery and 18W fast recharge, as well as a physical digital reader on the back. The model will be sold with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with support for microSD card.
HTC Desire 20 Pro
The other device presented by HTC is the Desire 20 Pro, which does not support 5G. The phone has a rear camera system similar to the U20, but with a more compact body and specifications aimed at cost-effectiveness.
The smartphone comes equipped with a 6.5-inch Full HD + screen, which has an opening to accommodate the 25 MP selfie sensor. The processor of the phone is the Snapdragon 665, a Qualcomm model that works with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The battery is 5,000 mAh and has support for quick charge Quick Charge 3.0.
The back of the device includes a physical fingerprint sensor and a different texture. Another point of the design that draws attention is the presence of a dedicated connection for headphones, which does not appear on the U20 5G.
HTC has not yet revealed the price of its new smartphones, however, considering the specifications, we can expect values that aim at cost-benefit. The Desire 20 Pro and U20 5G will be launched first in Taiwan and the arrival of products in other parts of the world is still uncertain.
