The Chinese technology manufacturer is developing its own programming language. The company also filed a patent for Cangjie after HarmonyOS and plans to make it available this year.
Chinese technology giant Huawei is preparing to expand its software portfolio. After HarmonyOS, the company’s next step in this area will be its own programming language.
It takes its name from Chinese culture
Based on the patent documents available on the web, we can say that the programming language developed by Huawei will be available under the name Cangjie. The term also refers to the method of entering Chinese characters into computers, named after Cang Jie, the court historian of the legendary emperor Huang Di and the legendary creator of Chinese writing.
Cang Jie, on the other hand, is regarded as the creator of the Chinese writing system. For the company, this isn’t the first reference to Chinese culture. Previously, the Kirin, Hongmeng, Kunpeng, Barong, Taishan, Lingxiao and Shengteng brands were taken from the country’s ancient history. The Cangjie programming language is expected to be officially announced later this year.
