Chinese Huawei continues to make a difference to its competitors in patents. The future of technology seems to be entrusted to Huawei.
Standing tall despite America’s sanctions, Chinese Huawei continues its investments. Huawei has started to create an ecosystem in addition to the phones it has produced, and it is also improving itself on patents. It seems that the future of technology will depend on Huawei. Because the patents received by the Chinese firm show how determined the firm is about its future plans.
The World Intellectual Property Organization has published the data report of the patents registered by the relevant trademarks around the world from 2017 to 2019. It seems clear from the report that Huawei has led the list for three years in a row. The report shows that 13 Chinese companies are among the top 50 and 4 companies in the top 10 in the 2019 global PCT patent application rankings. Huawei is ranked first, OPPO is ranked fifth, followed by BOE in sixth and Ping An in eighth. Following the report ranking, China ranked among the top 10 companies with the most PCT patent applications.
In 2019, China applied 58,900 patents to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Patent Cooperation Agreement (PCT). The United States received 57,840 patents in 2019. China, which will rival America’s investments in technology, will root out US companies in 3-4 years.
However, it is worth noting that America has basic patents. Even the revocation of the Android license has deeply affected Huawei. Let’s see how the USA, which holds the patents on the chipset, will respond to these breakthroughs of China?
