Huawei started to offer its users the Android 10-based EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 open beta program for older flagship devices with the Kirin 980 chipset.

Huawei has started to offer users the Android 10-based EMUI 11 (Huawei devices) and Magic UI 4.0 (Honor devices) open beta program for 14 flagship smartphones and tablets. The software update is available to users who register with Huawei Club.

All of the devices are powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, which Huawei launched in 2017 and is an eight-core processor based on a 7 nm manufacturing process. Kirin 980 was classified as the flagship chip at the time of its release.

While the current testing phase is limited to users in China for now, Huawei’s testing will begin to be expanded to variants of eligible devices in Europe and other regions. The EMUI 11 roadmap, previously announced, shows that the test will reach the global in the first quarter of 2021.
