Chinese technology giant Huawei officially introduced the company’s new foldable smartphone model, the Huawei Mate X2. The smartphone will be released in two versions.
Technology maker Huawei today officially announced the long-awaited next-generation foldable smartphone Mate X2, which will go on sale on February 25.
In concept, the new device looks like the Samsung Galaxy Fold models. The Huawei Mate X2 has a fold-in main flexible display and also an auxiliary external display. An improved hinge mechanism made with innovative materials is responsible for the smooth opening / closing operation.
Unlike the Mate X, which only has one display, the new Mate X2 has two displays. The inner screen is 8 inches diagonally, has a near-square 8: 7.1 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2480 x 2200. The outer screen is 6.45 inches diagonally and has an aspect ratio of 21: 9. Note that the refresh rate of both screens is 90 Hz.
The Huawei Mate X2 has a proprietary 5nm Kirin 9000 processor with eight cores (up to 3.13 GHz), a Mali-G78 graphics accelerator and a 5G modem. It was announced that the amount of RAM was 8 GB. The body of the smartphone has a wedge-like shape that thickens on one side both when folded and unfolded.
The price is of the pocket-burning kind
This solution made it possible to equip the device with an advanced quad camera with 50 megapixel main module, 16 megapixel ultra-wide and two telephoto lenses with 12 and 8 megapixel resolution respectively and 3x and 10x optical zoom. It is stated that the maximum digital zoom is 100x. It is also among the other striking details that there is support for the macro mode with focusing feature from a distance of 2.5 cm.
The smartphone runs Android 10 with EMUI 11.0 user interface. It has also been stated that there are features such as launching any two applications at the same time on both halves of the internal screen and then opening several floating windows of the same program.
The 256 GB Huawei Mate X2 version will be priced at $ 2784, and the 512 GB version at $ 2939. The sales of the smartphone in China start on February 25.
