Huawei phone processors continue to talk about itself. The Chinese firm, which has been in a tough competition with Qualcomm since last year, took the throne of the US-based team. So what does this success mean for Huawei?
Huawei has become number one in the market of phone processors
There is a global decline in smartphone sales. This drop negatively affects processor production and processor usage. A study for China’s phone processors market revealed that Huawei surpassed its competitors.
HiSilicon, working for Huawei and Honor, took the lead for the first time against its strong rival, Qualcomm. The manufacturers’ selection of HiSilicon instead of Qualcomm and Huawei’s advertising strategy has changed China’s largest processor supplier.
In this context, the biggest processor supplier of the East Asian country was HiSilicon. The successful team leads the Chinese processor market with a market share of 43.9 percent. Having a 24.3 percent slice in the first quarter of 2019, HiSilicon held a 36.5 percent market share in the last quarter of the same year.
HiSilicon, which showed a 7.4 percent leap, made history as the only brand that has grown in this field for this period. Looking at the Qualcomm front, its share fell from 48.1 percent to 32.8 percent during the year.
Qualcomm, which witnessed a 15.3 percent drop in a short time, was sitting on the throne of HiSilicon in the first quarter of last year. For Qualcomm, which holds a 37.8 percent market share in the last quarter of 2019, things are not getting any better.
When we look at Apple, we see that it has increased only 1 percent in 1 year, but it has experienced a decrease of 2.6 percent compared to the last period of last year. The market share of other unnamed processors increased from 0.2 percent to 1.7 percent.
