IOS 14.4, which Apple introduced yesterday, can detect whether or not a sub-industry camera is used on iPhones. So what if a non-original camera is used on your device?
Apple released the iOS 14.4 update for iPhone users yesterday. The new version of the mobile operating system brings along a number of new features as well as bug fixes.
iOS 14.4 has the ability to detect if the iPhone camera is original. The company has published a support document describing the problems that may occur in case of using sub-industry cameras in iPhones.
If non-genuine camera parts are used in service centers iPhones, the problems listed below may occur:
The camera is not focusing properly or the images are not clear
Subject is out of focus or only partially focused when using portrait mode
A 3rd party app using the camera freezes or quits unexpectedly
Real-time preview in 3rd party apps appears blank or stuck
It does not prevent access to the camera
If iOS 14.4 detects that the smartphone has a non-original lens, the notification “Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple camera” appears in the Settings> General> About menu.
Note that the message in question is valid for iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini models and does not prevent access to the camera.
