Despite the uncertainties surrounding the launch of a new line of iPhone in September, the traditional month for the event in which the device is renewed, rumors about the new models continue in full swing, this time related to the camera.
According to analyst Ming-Chu Kuo, the top-of-the-range model, probably called the iPhone 12 Pro Max, will have some differentials compared to the “inferior” models, starting with the sensor behind the wide-angle lens. Instead of a 1 / 3.6 ” sensor, it should come equipped with a 1 / 1.9 ” component, in addition to an improved optical stabilization system.
The larger sensor promises a leap in image quality, especially in low light photos. A larger sensor is more sensitive to light, especially when the company is not interested in a runaway for more megapixels, as it has been with Chinese and South Korean competitors.
The expectation is that the same sensor will reach the rest of the line only in the 2021 update, points out Kuo. Image stabilization could reach the telephoto lens in the same year.
