DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA BEGINS COLLABORATION WITH MCDONALD’S RESTAURANTS IN JAPAN. KNOW ALL THE DETAILS
After the tremendous sales of his manga, and the profits made by his film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is in his prime. Especially when it comes to its popularity.
There have been countless products based on the franchise, and they will surely continue to come out. Now, a well-known American fast food restaurant brand begins a collaboration series. It is nothing less than McDonald’s.
KIMETSU NO YAIBA BEGINS COLLABORATION WITH MCDONALD’S
It is not the first time that this franchise approaches the world of manga and anime. In fact, his best known collaborations are with Pokémon, which is also related to video games.
But returning to the topic, McDonald’s Japanese subsidiary made the respective announcement through its Twitter account. This was accompanied by the classic dark and green plaid pattern of Tanjirou Kamado’s suit, the protagonist of the story.
The gift for those who buy a McDonald’s Happy Meal from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a series of decals and stickers. These are based not only on Tanjirou, but also on Nezuko.
Other characters that appear are Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Shinobu Kochou, and Giyu Tomioka. They just don’t appear in the same way as in Koyoharu Gotōge’s play, or the successful animated adaptation of it.
THIS PROMOTION IS NOT HIGHLY LIKELY TO COME FROM JAPAN
They all wear outfits like those of the employees of this restaurant chain. They really look pretty good, and they give an additional idea of how they would be in our time.
One thing that is evident is that similar promotions will continue in the future. Especially with the announcement of Season 2 of the anime. According to what was announced a few days ago, its premiere will be this year. It is something that many are waiting for.
With more than 140 million copies in circulation of the manga, and having the highest grossing film in history in Japan, from a financial point of view this sequel to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is logical.
Possibilities of seeing this collaboration with McDonald’s outside of Japan? It is not very likely, since it is intended primarily for consumers in that country. Not all promotions reach other nations.
