According to the researches, the latest reports show that the two MacBook Pro models to be released this year will return to the old and will include an SD card reader and HDMI port.
In 2016, Apple removed the HDMI port and SD card slot from the MacBook lineup. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the MacBook Pros expected to be released in the second half of this year will be equipped with an HDMI port and an SD card slot similar to the 2015 models.
HDMI and SD card input return to MacBook Pros
According to Kuo, Apple is planning at least two new MacBook Pros with significant changes in design and features. Some of the critical changes will be the inclusion of an SD card reader and HDMI port. The SD Card slot feature was first unveiled last month by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Kuo says Apple will remove the Touch Bar on the 2021 MacBook Pros, bringing MagSafe charging technology back. Apple’s 2021 MacBook Pro series will likely come in two sizes, 14-inch and 16-inch, and the series is expected to include an upgraded version of the M1 processors that were launched last year.
As a result of the new design and feature changes, Kuo expects overall MacBook shipments to grow between 25% and 30% annually in 2021 and reach 20 million units.
