According to The Illuminerdi, Marvel Studios would be developing a project centered on the character Nova, long awaited by fans. Still at an early stage, it has not been revealed whether it will be a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie or a series on Disney +. However, according to sources on the website, it is more likely to be a Phase 5 feature or later. It is worth mentioning that the information was not confirmed by Disney.

As recently reported, Nova would make her MCU debut in Avengers: Endgame. In initial scripts, there was the idea of introducing him as the messenger of the arrival of the Thanos threat, a role that ultimately ended up with Hulk / Bruce Banner. In an interview with ComicBook.com, last year, Kevin Feige even commented on plans to introduce him.

“We love Nova, it would be cool. If we have a board with all the characters that have the potential for an immediate debut, it would be there. This [would happen] because of his connection with the Guardians [of the Galaxy] universe and because there is more than one interesting example of him in the comics ”, said the head of the studio, in relation to the identities that assumed the name in the comics, in this case Richard Rider and Sam Alexander.

At the time, he also stated that Nova was in the initial scripts of the space team’s first film. Thus, it is possible that his appearance occurs initially in another production, before winning a solo adventure. In fact, the studio has already pointed out that the future of the MCU will have more cosmic elements, which gives even more relevance to the subject.

In the comics, Richard Rider joined the New Troop after the last survivor of the Xandar group, Rhomann Dey, arrived on Earth and passed on his powers and duties to him. Dey was played by actor John C. Reilly in Guardians of the Galaxy and, considering the events that led to the destruction of the troop’s home planet in Avengers: Endgame, the story can be easily adapted by the producers.
