MediaTek competed tightly with Qualcomm and the Dimensity series, and had not produced a flagship chipset in this process. It was said that the chipset giant will appear this year with MediaTek Dimensity 2000. Today, a new one has been added to these rumors.
According to Digital Chat Station, which is famous for its leaks; MediaTek’s Dimensity 2000 chipset will be produced with 5nm and Dimensity 1200 at 6nm. Dimensity 1000, Dimensity 800 and Dimensity 720 models are used in OPPO, realme and HONOR phones, while Dimensity 1200, which is said to be introduced in the first quarter of 2021, will only be used in OPPO and Vivo phones in the first place.
Dimensity 2000, which is expected to arrive in the 1st quarter of 2022, is said to use ARM Cortex X2, ARM Cortex-A79 processor cores along with the ARM Mali G79 GPU, which is expected to be introduced this year.
MediaTek will introduce the new chipset at its event on January 20th. It looks like it’s going to be Dimensity 1200. The company has already confirmed that on this chipset the Cortex-A78 CPU will offer a new premium 6nm 5G SoC with 3GHz speed.
The resulting AnTuTu benchmark scores of the Dimensity 1200 chipset outperform Snapdragon 865. This chipset is said to use a quad-core Cortex-A55 and a quad-core Cortex-A78 with Mali-G77 GPU, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 support.
MediaTek, which will rival the Snapdragon 865 with the Dimensity 1200, looks like it will surpass the Snapdragon 888 with the Dimensity 2000.
