Technology giant Microsoft has officially announced two new versions of its office applications suite for both Windows and Mac platforms. They are expected to be released at the end of the year.
Microsoft announced Office 2021 and Office LTSC. The first will be offered to consumers, the second to commercial customers. The packages are designed for users who are not ready to move to the Microsoft 365 cloud service.
For Windows and Mac platforms
Office 2021 will be released in Windows and Mac versions. Microsoft has not yet announced all the pending changes to users in Office 2021. Most likely, the package will include some of the features available in Office apps as part of the Microsoft 365 subscription.
As for Office LTSC, it will get support for dark theme, accessibility enhancements, Dynamic Arrays and XLOOKUP features in Excel. At the same time, Office LTSC will now be supported for only five years instead of seven. The preview version of Office LTSC for testing will be released in April. Finally, it should be noted that the version of Office 2021 for Windows and macOS will be released later this year.
