Microsoft recently released a previous version of the Microsoft Defender ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) antivirus for Android. The security solution, which is aimed at corporate users, is available through the Intune Company Portal application, the company’s tool manager that can be downloaded from the Play Store.

The new Defender ATP is the mobile version of Microsoft’s antivirus developed for companies working on Windows 10. According to the company, the previous edition of the program has protection against phishing attacks and insecure connections from applications and websites.

According to the company, Defender ATP can automatically block unsecured links sent by SMS, email and even WhatsApp. The anti-phishing system works in conjunction with Android tools and notifies the user whenever a website is blocked.

The Microsoft Defender command center also has a filter that allows you to block access to certain websites. Thus, the business information technology team can assemble an address list and block access on corporate Android devices with the solution.

Another function present in antivirus is a tool that searches for malware on the cell phone. Microsoft points out that the Play Store and Android already have security solutions against this type of threat, but Defender ATP can improve security and ensure an extra layer of protection for companies.

Microsoft’s antivirus also has a system that allows blocking corporate data on devices considered risky. With this, companies can protect sensitive business information that is shared with different people.

“These features empower businesses to ensure enhanced security while keeping employees productive on their Android devices,” explains Microsoft on its website.

The antivirus will also get an iOS version in the coming months, but a date for launch on the Apple platform has yet to be set.
