Microsoft has launched Dolby Vision gaming tests for Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
When Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X and Series S models, it announced that both consoles would support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, the new generation consoles only supported Dolby Atmos in the first place. While discussing when the Dolby Vision support will come to the new generation Xbox consoles, Microsoft announced that it has started to test the feature with the users in the Xbox Insider “Alpha Ring”.
For now, Alpha users on Xbox Insider can access this feature. However, Microsoft draws attention to the fact that comprehensive tests of this feature will start as soon as possible.
At the same time, the company emphasizes that Xbox Series users who want to take advantage of this feature should have a TV with Dolby Vision support.
What is Dolby Vision?
Dolby Vision is another standard for HDR technology, while rivaling HDR10 + and HLG. The Dolby Vision standard is similar to other forms of HDR but requires more stringent features and aims to display more colors at high density. In other words, a device that has been awarded the Dolby Vision certificate can offer deeper colors than others.
