Minecraft News: A BAD LOSER?

Minecraft’ has been very popular since its launch. Even ten years after his departure we continue to have updates. Even recently, the arrival of Sonic, Sega’s famous mascot, was announced along with his friends as playable characters.

Although this popularity is not to everyone’s liking, something that surprises us is that his creator, Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, rants about his own creation. Just like he did recently in a tweet where he said, “I’m not someone who speaks ill of the dead, but yeah, Minecraft is a bit dead.”

It is not the first time that Notch causes controversy with his tweets, in fact he is already well known for his scandals. In 2017, he caused a stir by calling video game developer Zoë Quinn ‘cunt’, as well as by tweeting in favor of the creation of a ‘Heterosexual Pride Day’, in addition to saying that whoever disagreed ‘deserved a shot’ and for joining the ‘It’s okay to be white’ campaign that argued that there was no so-called ‘white privilege’.

Although he is the creator of ‘Minecraft‘, currently he no longer has anything to do with the game, as in 2014 he sold his studio, Mojang, to Microsoft for $ 2.5 billion. In 2019, due to controversial tweets from him, a new game patch removed any reference to Notch.

His tweet about ‘Minecraft’ received many responses, most of them attacking the creator. One of the responses came from Cliffy B, the creator of ‘Gears of War’, who said, ‘Besides, it’s pretty shitty that you talk shit like that about the company that bought your freedom. That would be like saying ‘Gears is crap now’, no, I want to see that my baby does well. Man, seriously, what the fuck? ‘

Although Notch has said that about the creation of it, the reality is that “Minecraft” is far from dead because so far it has sold more than 200 million copies and has up to 140 million active players per month. This doesn’t look like anything dead to us. What do you think, Minecraft is actually dying or was it just a jilted tweet?
