The production of the new installment of “Mission: Impossible” was one of the first to pause its production against the coronavirus, which in late February was not yet considered a pandemic.

Parts 7 and 8, which were filming continuously, have now been officially delayed in their scheduled release dates by Paramount Pictures.

According to Variety, “Mission: Impossible 7” has been moved from July 21, 2021 to November 19, 2021. While “Mission: Impossible 8” will be moved from August 5, 2022 to November 4, 2022.

The seventh installment was about to start filming in Venice, Italy when production had to stop due to the growing cases of coronaviruses, which at that time were at 230.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the films will again feature Tom Cruise in the lead role, accompanied by Rebecca Ferguson, Nicholas Hoult, Hayley Atwell, among others.
