A MOST COMMON SCENE UNLEASHED THE ATTACKER’S WRATH
Kyoto Animation was attacked on July 18, 2019 by a subject claiming alleged plagiarism from the studio, and due to this incident, 36 employees lost their lives.
The perpetrator of the attack was detained by the authorities because he suffered burns during the incident, and just over a year after this terrible event, a key piece of information has just been revealed.
The scene that triggered Shinji Aoba’s ire was finally shown to the public, and you will realize that he was exaggerating too much.
A little over a year and a half after the Tokyo Animation incident, the scene that the studio supposedly plagiarized was finally revealed, and worst of all, it is a completely common action in many works.
Said fragment appeared in the anime Tsurune: Kazemai Koukou Kyuudoubu, and it shows some characters buying ingredients at a discount.
It all happens in episode 5, when they find some meat that is about to expire, so they buy it and ensure that they will eat all day to take advantage of the offer.
Something so common that it is hard to believe.
This moment that lasts only two minutes on screen, was the one that Shinji Aoba interpreted as a plagiarism of one of his light novels, although it is common to see similar scenes in stories of the moe type.
THE AFTERMATH OF THE KYOTO ANIMATION FIRE
Although the attacker has already been convicted of murder, arson, burglary and violation of the gun control law, the consequences continue to be felt among the victims’ colleagues and their families.
The anime was also affected, as directors Yasuhiro Takemoto and Yoshiji Kigami lost their lives during the incident, as well as several illustrators and technical staff of important works.
Undoubtedly, this tragedy will leave consequences that can never be erased, but this time, fortunately justice was served.
