According to the Wall Street Journal, Sony made an agreement with Netflix to broadcast its movies to be released after 2022 on Netflix after they were released in theaters. The deal will apply to films between 2022 and 2026. The price paid by Netflix for the deal has not been disclosed, but according to Variety’s sources, a significant amount and a record in the industry may have been set.
This agreement does not apply to Spider-Man’s latest movie Spider-Man: No Way Home and Venom 2, as it will be valid for films after 2022. However, it is known that Sony will be released Venom films and Spider-Man films in the future, they will be included in this agreement. In addition, the game adaptation Uncharted, Marvel’s Morbius, Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt, and the successful animated movie Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse 2 are the prominent productions that are included in this deal.
