CD Projekt RED has unveiled a new game snippet for Cyberpunk 2077, its upcoming PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC game slated to debut in September.
Unfortunately, the footage isn’t very exciting, but it’s a stark look at the game, and perhaps our best look at the game world and how it will feel to navigate it.
The footage appears as a new Q&A video with the game and developers on the project, and it actually scattered throughout the video, but one fan has taken the trouble to put it all together.
Image-wise, it shows players following Placide around what looks like an underground shopping area.
In addition to showing the environment of this area, they show the interaction with the stores and the dynamic way in which the NPCs communicate not only with the players, but with each other. And this is represented by a little text above the head of the NPCs that shows what they are saying.
The images are not only stunning, they are so densely populated with unique art assets that they create what seems like an incredibly immersive experience.
This explains why CD Projekt RED decided to make the game in the first person rather than the third person, and stood up for the decision, even after the announcement sparked fan reaction.
