With its brand new design, advanced security technology and features, the new generation Honda HR-V offers the Japanese brand’s innovative hybrid technology called e: HEV as standard.
The new generation 2021 Honda HR-V, which has appeared with hint visuals in recent weeks, was officially introduced today. The new HR-V will be available in Europe towards the end of 2021.
It is possible to say that the new generation Honda HR-V looks more molded compared to the model it replaces due to its general structure. At the front, a frameless front grille with horizontal lines draws attention. The fact that the shutter is the same as the body color has increased the simplicity in the design. Slim LED lights are also designed to appear integrated with the top part of the shutter. In the lower part of the bumper, horizontal fog lamps and diamond-patterned lower louvre are visible.
As Dana mentioned before, the new HR-V gives a more imposing SUV feel when viewed from the side. Big wheels, prominent shoulder line and wide fenders support this look. The diameter of the wheels on the HR-V varies between 16 and 18 inches depending on the trim level. While the black plastic covers on the fender and skirts emphasize the SUV character of the vehicle, the rear door handles hidden in the C pillar are the only detail we are familiar with from the previous model.
The rear of the new generation Honda HR-V has also been recreated. It is possible to say that the highly curved rear window creates a coupe-SUV atmosphere. The rear spoiler makes the roof appear a bit longer, while the new LED lights are linked by a thin strip of light. On the bumper part of the Honda HR-V, where the plate is placed on the tailgate, thin reflectors and gray cover plate draw attention.
The interior of the car has also been made more modern and comfortable. While soft textured materials are used on all surfaces, the continuation of the design in the air vents throughout the console has added a more premium atmosphere to this area. Right in front of the driver, there is a three-spoke steering wheel with glossy black details and a digital instrument panel. The multimedia screen is attached to the center of the console in the form of a tablet screen. While the panoramic glass roof makes the cabin of the new HR-V more spacious, Magic Seats ensures that the luggage volume is increased to the optimum value when needed.
Technical details of the third generation HR-V have not been disclosed yet, but we know that the company will use the e: HEV two-motor hybrid system. In this context, we will see a system consisting of two electric motors, 1.5 liter gasoline unit and lithium-ion battery. Data on the system in question will be shared in the future.
