Microsoft made a drastic update to the OneDrive file size limit.Microsoft made a significant change to the OneDrive cloud storage platform for those who work with huge files.
The OneDrive file size limit, previously 100 GB, will now be 250 GB. Note that this includes the SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams installations.
In this sense, it has been made easy for those who need to store large 8K video files, 3D models, CAD files, large data sets and more. Unlike OneDrive Business, Microsoft says it is possible for consumers who use OneDrive to upload a family video album or a ZIP file with a large video game inside.
Also, managing these files will be easier, thanks to gradual synchronization. Without this feature, the full file size must be uploaded every time it is edited. Microsoft shares that these large files are fragmented and encrypted with a unique key. Support for larger files will be available at the end of this month and will begin to be generally available at the end of the quarter.
