YouTube announced, on Monday (4), the signing of an exclusive contract with PewDiePie, one of the biggest stars of online games today. With the agreement, he will start broadcasting his lives exclusively on Google’s video platform.

Owner of one of the biggest YouTube channels, with more than 104 million subscribers and 25 billion views, the gamer, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, returns to the service about a year after deciding to broadcast his videos live only through Dlive, a small blockchain-based streaming site.

In a statement, the Swedish youtuber said he was excited about the return: “YouTube has been my home for over a decade, and live streaming on the platform seems like a natural fit as I keep looking for new ways to create content and interact with fans around the world, ”he said.

With the partnership, whose financial details have not been revealed, the video service further increases its team of stars related to the universe of online games. Some of the other channels of gamers that are successful on the platform are CouRage, Muselk, Valkyrae, LazarBeam, Lachlan and Typical Gamer.

Controversy history
The PewDiePie channel on YouTube was created in 2010. During that time, the gamer broke records, for example becoming the first individual creator to reach the mark of 100 million subscribers. But he also experienced a controversial relationship with the service.

The list of problems includes situations such as racist insults directed at an opponent during a match shown live and the blocking of videos sent by him containing references to Nazism and anti-Semitic insults, among others.
