It was removed from the App Store and Google Play Store in December, shortly before the NYT report, which is a spying tool for the United Arab Emirates.

According to NYT, the application was removed from both stores for trying to spy, violating policies. Promising “fast, free and secure” messaging and conversation, ToTok soon became a messaging application downloaded by millions of people in the United Arab Emirates and other middle east countries.
