Bitcoin’s presence on Twitter has more than quadrupled since the beginning of the year and has reached levels not seen since 2018.
According to data provided by Bitinfocharts, the statements mentioned on Bitcoin (BTC) on Twitter have increased by 313% since January 1, 2020. The number of expressions, which was 13,500 on January 1, has increased to 55,866 today.
The latest reason for the number of expressions seen in such an increase in 2018 is the upcoming Bitcoin Half-Time Event and, accordingly, the rise of the leading crypto asset. As of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $ 9,802.
There are similar increases in Google search trends. There is a serious increase especially in the word “Bitcoin Halving”.
When the data provided is examined, the price increase in Bitcoin seems to be very interesting for users. In addition to the price increase, the share of halfway activity, which takes place every 4 years and halves the mining reward, therefore protecting Bitcoin against inflation, is quite large.
The reviving popularity of Bitcoin did not make much difference at the blockchain level. Average transaction fees were near $ 2.94 recently, while blockchain mempool was clogged with over 80MB of unconfirmed transactions. Today, mempool contains unprocessed data below 20MB and average wages are just under $ 2.
