Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, the successor to the Snapdragon 865 series, was announced.Snapdragon 870 5G Mobile Platform is officially announced by Qualcomm.
The successor to last year’s Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 865 Plus models, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 is similar in many respects to Qualcomm’s 2020 chipsets.
Snapdragon 870 Features
Using the Kryo 585 CPU and Adreno 650 GPU like the Snapdragon 865 series, the Snapdragon 870’s main core can be clocked at 3.2 GHz instead of 3.1 GHz. Of course, the cooling used by the manufacturer will be effective in this. Apart from that, Qualcomm doesn’t mention any other changes. Spectra 480 ISP, on the other hand, allows installations up to 200 MP in a single camera and 720p video shooting with 960 FPS. Hexagon 698 processor and FastConnect 6800 for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are among other details. Smartphones using this chipset will also be able to offer support for QHD + resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. For 5G, Snapdragon X55 5G Model-RF System is included.
The first devices using Snapdragon 870 are expected to be announced in the first quarter of this year. Among the companies that will make the announcement are names such as Motorola, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO and Xiaomi. Additionally, Qualcomm adds that all these companies are committed to launching Snapdragon 888 devices.
Let us remind you that Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform at the beginning of last month.
