The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV are part of General Motors’ plan to launch 30 new electric models by 25. Here is the design and features of the revamped Bolt and the new Bolt EUV:
General Motors (GM), one of the manufacturers that upshifts for electric vehicles, has uncovered the new Chevrolet Bolt and its crossover version, Bolt EUV.
Launched in 2017, Bolt achieved modest success, beating the 100,000 sales threshold globally, but more importantly, 75 percent of customers who bought Bolt were GM customers for the first time. Now with the Bolt EUV version, the electric model, with its unique design and accessible price tag, will be one of the most important parts of the 30 new electric vehicle plan that the company will launch by 2025.
We can say that the change in the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt is a comprehensive makeover. Accordingly, the front of the car has been completely changed, including the hood. Slim LED daytime running lights and boomerang-shaped new lighting that extend to the lower part of the bumper are among the highlights here. In addition, by getting rid of the panel that looks like blinds in the section where the logo is, this area has been given a simpler look.
The change in the Chevrolet Bolt continues in the rear. Although the tailgate retains its general structure, it has been renewed and equipped with new LED stops. The angular design on the edges of the bumper has been abandoned and a more rounded design has been adopted. In addition, thinner reflectors are used in the part that separates the body color from black plastic.
In the interior, a new steering wheel is used. In addition, the design of the console, center console and seats has been changed. There is an 8-inch digital display screen right in front of the driver. The multimedia screen embedded in the center of the console is 10.2 inches in size. The system in question now has wireless Apple CarPlay support and in-car apps. Alexa, Spotify etc. applications can be given as examples.
The new Bolt EUV is a slightly higher version of Bolt, as you can see in the photos. Although the front section is quite similar, there are minor differences, such as the LED daytime running lights and the lights being completely separate from each other. On the side, we can say that everything is different, including the sill, shoulder line and the design of the windows. Bolt EUV also has roof rails.
One of the most important differences between Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV is the size. Because the crossover model has 160mm in total length and 74mm in wheelbase. This has led to a more spacious living space, including rear legroom of 993 mm. Other sizes of the two models are largely similar. Their maximum luggage capacity is around 1600 liters.
Although the interiors of the two brothers are similar, the equipment in Bolt EUV is more attractive. In this version, equipment such as wireless smartphone charging unit, panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats can be preferred. Bolt EUV also stands out as the company’s first electric car to be preferred with the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system.
The 2021 Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV has an electric motor that produces 203 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. This means that both models only have a front-wheel drive option. The 65 kWh lithium-ion battery provides Bolt with a driving range of 416 kilometers on a single charge. In the larger and heavier Bolt EUV, this value is expected to be around 402 kilometers. With the fast charging feature, it is possible to achieve a range of 161 kilometers in half an hour in Bolt and 153 kilometers in Bolt EUV.
The 2021 Bolt and Bolt EUV will be available this summer. Bolt’s price starts at $ 31,995. Bolt EUV stands out with its price of $ 33.995. In addition, the version of the crossover named Launch Edition will also be offered in the first place. The price of this version, which attracts attention with its standard features such as special wheels, panoramic glass roof, illuminated charging input and Super Cruise system, was announced as 43,495 dollars.
