Resident Evil is one of the horror sagas that has been more sustained over time. While its genre competitors like ‘Silent Hill’ or ‘Dead Space’ have struggled and only seem to be making a comeback, the Capcom saga has remained strong.

Apparently this strength will not diminish anytime soon, as Resident Evil could have a bright future with all the new titles that it supposedly has in development. Some are already well known to the public and others still remain as rumors. But here we show you the games of the saga that are in development

This news was given by Capcom at its recent E3 2021 conference. The company is working on a DLC for Resident Evil Village, although at the moment they did not give details about what it will be about. But the truth is that there are many possibilities of where they could lead the Village.

They also reported that the multiplayer component known as RE: Verse will soon arrive. This multiplayer from the Resident Evil universe should have arrived together with Village but was delayed due to the large number of bugs that were found in its beta. Apparently we will see it arrive sometime in July.

Within the titles of the saga, it could be said that 4 is the most beloved. Therefore, it is not uncommon to think that Capcom is working on a remake of this. Rumors of its existence began from a reference to parasites in the remake of 3, but the rumors seemed “confirmed” with the Capcom leak last year.

In this leak it was revealed that Capcom is working with their studio, M-Two, to create the remake of the 2005 title. According to the data, the studio is working on the remake of Resident Evil 4 since 2018 and has a tentative release date. for the last months of 2022.

Another of the leaked titles was a new Resident Evil Outbreak, although it is not known exactly if it will be a remake or a continuation of this popular RE series. The only thing we got from the leak, other than the title, was that it was planned to be released in late 2021.

In addition to the leak, a renowned Resident Evil insider known as Dusk Golem, mentioned that Outbreak is actually Revelations 3. According to Dusk, it will have Rebecca Chambers as the protagonist and will be a temporary exclusive for Nintendo Switch.

Resident Evil Outbreak and Outbreak File # 2 were very well received titles in the series. In these we saw the events of Raccoon City from the point of view of other survivors. The title had interesting stories, a lot of replayability, and a multiplayer component that would be perfect for the current era. Hopefully we see this series again.

After these titles, we would supposedly see the arrival of Biohazard Apocalypse during the third quarter of 2023. We don’t have much information about this title other than the name and its tentative release date. Although it is curious that Biohazard is used, which is the Japanese name for Resident Evil.

The name Biohazard had only been used in Japan to refer to Resident Evil, but that changed with the arrival of the seventh installment, which was called Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. This could perhaps indicate that it will be the continuation of the trilogy that began with Ethan Winters’ nightmare in Louisiana and continued with Village. But this is all mere speculation.

The farthest title we know of is Resident Evil Hank. From this title it is known that it would be arriving until the end of the year 2024. So it is very likely that we will not have more information about this installment until at least 2022, although it works for us.

Due to the name, it is probably a game about the Umbrella mercenary known as Hunk. This character we met in Resident Evil 2’s ‘The 4th Survivor’ campaign is a fan favorite. Perhaps a game where we explore more of his history is not a bad idea.

These are all the titles that will come from this survival horror saga, at least the ones we know about. Maybe Capcom can surprise us with some new additions to this universe. Which of these less titles excites you the most?
