Laptops with RTX 3000 graphics cards, powered by the new Ampere architecture, will soon be on the shelves.
NVIDIA’s new generation RTX 3000 series desktop graphics cards continue to be sold, although they are limited. On the other hand, the green team continues to work on the mobile platform and we have said that laptops with RTX 3000 GPU will be released soon.
In fact, these laptops must be ready for sale so they are listed by the Dutch retailer Azerty. The devices are naturally out of stock, but the store says a delivery time of more than 10 business days. The Ampere architecture is very close to mobile, and it looks likely to launch at CES 2021.
Gigabyte’s 15-inch and 17-inch laptops use Intel’s 10-generation Comet Lake-H processors as well as NVIDIA GPUs. Prices are in euro terms and seem quite high.
The new laptops will come with the RTX 3080 Max-Q, RTX 3070 Max-Q and RTX 3060 Max-P models. Notice that the RTX 3060 Ti is not visible here. This signals that the RTX 3060 desktop version may come soon.
Finally, we expect these Ampere graphics cards listed to be used with the new Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors with Zen 3 architecture. These mobile CPUs could also be introduced at CES 2021, and we saw the Ryzen 7 5800H in tests.
