Simon Bryne miners cryptocurrency with six RTX 3080 GPUs that he packs in the trunk of the BMW i8 hybrid car.
Cryptocurrency miner Simon Bryne once again caught attention by setting up a small mining farm with six RTX 3080 GPUs in the trunk of his BMW i8 car. In this sense, we can say that Bryne made the first mining mechanism that could accelerate to 0-100 km / h in under 4.5 seconds and at the same time earn money. Meanwhile, he has a farm consisting of 72 RTX 3080s.
Byrne also states that the farm works pretty well inside the car. It seems that the BMW i8 can deliver more than enough power from the battery pack to power the miniature RTX 3080 farm. The car can supply up to 3500W of power from its main output, and the mining setup only consumes 1500W of power. The only problem is that the trunk must remain open. Otherwise, it is shared that the mining assembly will overheat. By the way, let’s not forget that the system is connected using an inverter.
The BMW i8 is a performance-optimized hybrid car with a total of 369 horsepower and only 141 horsepower from the vehicle’s internal combustion engine. In other words, more than half of the car’s power output is obtained from electric motors. The car supplies these high-torque electric motors with a 11.6kWh 353V lithium-ion battery pack.
