Here’s a rumor we couldn’t imagine in our wildest superhero dreams: Michael Keaton may return as Batman in Warner Bros’ new Flash movie!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keaton is in talks as we speak to play Bruce Wayne again. Or actually: several times.
Michael Keaton as Batman
Michael had previously donned his cape twice for Tim Burton’s legendary Batman films Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). Now he might do that again for the upcoming Flash movie by It director Andy Muschietti. “But wait, there’s more,” The Hollywood Reporter teases.
This The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, is reportedly separate from that other Batman movie to come. With Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader. Instead, Barry would travel between times and dimensions in his own film, making it suddenly quite logical for Michael Keaton’s version of Bruce Wayne to pop up. “Sources tell THR that the role being envisioned for the veteran actor is akin to the role played by Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something of a mentor or guide or even string puller”. The conversations with Keaton would also be about multiple DC films, not just The Flash. “Batgirl is one the projects in development that could fall under that win.”
