Samsung has always been considered a little more “conservative” when it comes to the design of its smartphones. So, instead of using pop-up mechanisms, the South Korean giant decided to bet on something more “sober” with the notches Infinity-O, Infinity-V and Infinity-U.
However, it appears that the Galaxy A80 will no longer be the only “point outside the curve”. That’s because information revealed by the trusted Onleaks indicates that Samsung is working on its first smartphone with a pop-up front camera.
See in the images below that this device appears to have a 6.5-inch display and has a design language similar to that of the Galaxy A line. Not to mention that it resembles other devices from Huawei, Xiaomi and other Chinese. Check out some renderings:
In addition to having a somewhat “generic” design, the device also has a curved back on the sides and has three cameras allocated in a module in the upper corner. Another point that draws attention is that the fingerprint reader is centralized.
This ends up reinforcing the thesis that we are talking about an intermediary. In the video below it is also possible to see that the smartphone still has a USB-C port, but it leaves aside the P2 input for headphones.
For now, Samsung has not commented on the veracity of the leak. Therefore, we warn that everything should still be considered as just another rumor. Anyway, if it is launched, this device will only reach the market after the coronavirus crisis (Covid-19).
