It was certain that Samsung would not use the Tizen operating system in its new smart watches. It was said that the company’s smart TVs could also switch to the Android TV platform. The situation became clear.

Search giant Google recently announced at the I / O 2021 event that they combined Wear OS and the Tizen-based software platform that forms the basis of Samsung’s wearable devices.

The joint platform developed by the two giant companies is known as “Wear” for now. However, this name may change in the future. The new smart watches that Samsung will launch will now work with this new software.

Samsung official made a statement

There were speculations that the South Korean giant would stop using the Tizen operating system on its smart TVs after its smart watches. However, it seems the company is not planning a change in this direction.

“Tizen is still the default platform for our forward-looking smart TVs,” said a Samsung spokesperson for the Engadget website. The statement shows that the company is not considering such a change, at least in the near future.
