Samsung’s success in panel production will benefit its competitors. Samsung will feed Google, Xiaomi and OPPO with its foldable OLED screen.

South Korean technology giant Samsung continues to add revenue with the hardware and panels it supplies to its competitors, rather than its phones. Samsung seems to be better than its competitors on the foldable OLED display.

Latest reports; Samsung Display is reportedly trying to develop foldable OLED panels for companies such as Google, Xiaomi and OPPO. According to the report, smartphones with these panels will be launched this year.

OPPO’s foldable phone will have a top-down folding clamshell design. The screen size will be 7.7 inches and the outer screen will be 1.5 to 2 inches in size.

It is worth noting that OPPO announced last year a 7.7-inch foldable prototype that it has jointly used Samsung Display, BOE and Visionox to develop foldable panels. This year, only the panels will come out of Samsung.

On the other hand, Xiaomi plans to launch a foldable device as it aims to launch a foldable smartphone with an 8-inch screen. The outer screen will have a 6.38-inch screen developed by Samsung Display and CSOT.

Samsung’s success in panel production will benefit its competitors. Samsung will feed Google, Xiaomi and OPPO with its foldable OLED screen.

In addition, internet giant Google is asking Samsung to develop a 7.6-inch foldable OLED panel.

It is obvious that Samsung will direct the foldable phone segment with its panels for longer periods. Probably Apple will get its panels from its arch-rival Samsung, if it does. Let’s see if there will be a breakthrough with foldable panels from the BOE and LG front.
