Apple added the ability to select the default music player to its mobile operating system. In the beta version of iOS 14.5, Spotify can be set as the default music app.
With the beta version of iOS 14.5, Apple started offering users the ability to choose the default music player. Now when it asks Siri to play music, the digital assistant will first ask you to choose the default music player.
As you can see from the screenshots, this feature will also work with Spotify. So users will be able to set Spotify as the default music app when they upgrade their device to iOS 14.5. After doing that, Siri will always use that app for subsequent requests.
There are some minor problems
Users who find the opportunity to try the new feature say there are some errors, but considering that the first beta version of iOS 14.5 has been released, this is quite normal. It may not have settled properly because it is at an early stage.
The company will release 3-4 more beta versions of the operating system in the next few weeks. Of course, in these versions, the option to set the default music application will be much more stable.
