The Snapdragon 678 processor, which promises high performance to mid-segment phones, was announced.Snapdragon 678, launched as the successor of the Snapdragon 675 announced in 2018, promises high performance to mid-segment phones.
So, what does Snapdragon offer with 678 features? Let’s take a closer look at Qualcomm’s next-generation mid-segment processor.
The Snapdragon 678 processor, produced with an 11 nm fabrication process, hosts Cortex A76 cores, just like the Snapdragon 675 processor. As you know, Cortex A76 cores in SP675 were running at 2.0 GHz. In the recently introduced SP678 processor, we see that this value is increased up to 2.2 GHz.
On the GPU side, it is stated that the Snapdragon 678, which comes with Adreno 612 graphics unit, just like the SP675, offers a better graphics performance in this part compared to the SP675.
This processor, which will power many mid-segment phones to be launched in 2021, also supports 48 MP main and 16 MP front camera sensors. The processor, which is generally similar to the SP675, also hosts features such as 5x optical zoom and 4K HD video support.
At the same time, the processor, which can offer connection speeds up to 600 Mbps thanks to the X12 LTE modem, does not have 5G support.
