Snapdragon 888 News: Qualcomm’s flagship chipset Snapdragon 888 will appear with its affordable new version. Here are the features of the new chip.
Qualcomm came up with its new flagship processor Snapdragon 888 towards the end of last year. The future of a more affordable version of this chipset, which causes an increase in the prices of flagship phones due to its high price, has emerged today.
Snapdragon 888 will lower prices with Lite version
As you know, Qualcomm is currently working on the SD 888 Plus. This chipset, which will be introduced in the second half of 2021, will be more performant than its predecessor. The Lite version, on the other hand, is expected to be in the SD 888 setting, but with its price, it is expected to provide a relief in the flagship segment.
The new chipset is expected to include the Snapdragon X60 5G modem. This modem will be more efficient than the X55. In addition, Qualcomm can collect this new chip in three different categories. These could be SD 888 4G, 888 Wi-Fi and 888 Pro. The first two versions will lack support for fifth-generation networks. In addition, the W-Fi version targeting game consoles and tablets will not have an LTE module. As for the Pro version (SD 888 Plus), it will be a 3GHz overclocked version of the base model. Naturally, more performance will be offered in the Pro version.
Qualcomm currently wants to respond to MediaTek’s Dimensity attacks. That’s why it should produce affordable performance beast chipsets. The competition between these two companies will benefit us users. We think that after this competition, the prices of flagship phones will decrease towards the last quarter of 2021.
