It came to the fore with leaks, it was officially announced that it was announced, postponed countless times. Yes, it is clear from this sentence that it is Sony PlayStation 5. But this time we have good news. Sony PlayStation 5 is here! Also, PlayStation 5 games were exhibited for the first time. So, what will PlayStation 5 offer with its features? Although not all technical specifications were explained, we saw the console for the first time at this event.

Sony PlayStation 5 design is here!

Before moving on to the PlayStation 5 features, we would like to point out that you are disappointed. The disappointment is not the device itself, but the lack of shared information. Because Sony showed new games during the event, with the PlayStation 5 design, a few minutes before the closing, and ended the event. Many issues that are expected to be clarified from their features to the price still remain unclear.

PlayStation 5 has a vertical design that uses black and white colors in harmony with the new controller DualSense. While Sony has preferred the horizontal design in all game consoles so far, it is not known why such a decision has been made, but there are two different models.

In addition to the standard model, PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition model appears. The Digital Edition does not have any optical drives, as the name suggests, and the only way to install games is to download them from the internet.

The standard model has a 4K Blu-ray drive. Since there is no optical drive in the Digital Edition, it is expected to be thinner and cheaper in price. However, as we have stated above, the prices have not been announced yet.

In addition to the new game console, several accessories were announced, including the DualSense charging station, a new HD camera, Pulse 3D wireless headphones and remote control. While the ventilation holes of the PlayStation 5 can be seen easily from the front, there is a USB-C port in addition to the standard USB.

PlayStation 5 features

Some PlayStation 5 features were announced at the event held in March! Here are some of them;

The most striking detail among these features was the use of the AMD Zen 2 processor, which supports 8-core 3.5 GHz speed. On the graphics processor side, there is RDNA 2 architecture developed by AMD. With 36 computing units at a frequency of 2.23 GHz, RDNA 2 reveals an impressive 10.28 teraflops for the PS5. Moreover, the PS5 also supports 8K resolution.

PlayStation 5 will be much faster than the previous generation. The internal storage unit will be 825 GB SSD, and the PS5 supports expandable memory with the NVMe SSD slot. It also has an extra USB port to allow external storage.

On the memory side, 16 GB GDDR6 / 256 Bit RAM is among the most powerful features of PlayStation 5. With these features, games and broadcasts will be a hundred times faster than the previous model. As an optical drive, 4K UHD Blu-ray drive is preferred.

On the new console, PS4 and PS4 Pro games will be playable with the old game mode. It was already known that there would be Ray Tracing support on the console, but the scope of use was unknown. This feature will be used not only for global lighting, but also for shading, sound and reflection purposes.

What do you think about the PlayStation 5 features? Does it meet your expectations?
