AT LAST THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE HIS DESERVED, BUT, THERE WERE CHANGES

New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow dedicated a few words to characters like Pepé Le Pew, Speedy Gonzales and Mammy Two Shoes (by Tom and Jerry) in his most recent piece for the American media. This was somehow related to Space Jam 2.

This column generated such controversy and it was thought that Pepé Le Pew should be canceled. This leads us to talk about Space Jam 2: a film where several Looney Tunes characters appear.

Now, as if they had reached an agreement, just after the statement by Charles M. Blow in the New York Times, a news item is revealed in which we are given to understand that Space Jam 2 was going to have the participation of Pepé Le Pew, however, was eliminated from the final cut.

According to the information available, in June 2019 a scene was recorded for Space Jam 2 in which Greice Santo (Jane the Virgin from Netflix) would give Pepé Le Pew his due, however, this moment he did not manage to enter the cut end of the film.

This moment was directed by the then director of Space Jam 2, Terence Nance. But, after his departure, Malcolm D. Lee arrived, who decided to remove the skunk from the film and remove the scene.

WHAT WAS PEPÉ LE PEW’S SCENE ABOUT IN SPACE JAM 2?

In Space Jam 2, Pepe was to appear at Rick’s cafe in a Casablanca-style black and white scene. The skunk, playing a bartender, starts flirting with a woman at the bar played by Greice Santo. He begins to kiss hers on her arm, which she removes and then hits him on a chair next to hers.

Then, Greice Santo pours his drink on Pepe and slaps him hard, spinning him around on a stool, who is then stopped by LeBron James’ hand. The basketball player and Bugs Bunny look for Lola and Pepe knows her whereabouts.

Pepé Le Pew tells Lebron and Bugs that Penelope (the cat) has filed a restraining order against him. James makes a comment in the Space Jam 2 script that Pepé cannot take on other characters without his consent.

Actress Greice Santo stated that she did not like that the scene was removed, since she has also been a victim of harassment and she wanted to film that moment because the skunk finally had hers deserved of it.
