A university in the state of Kansas, USA, canceled the speech of US President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, with a video conference at the graduation ceremony of the school upon the death of her father’s black American George Floyd and the reactions to the protests.
Wichita State University withdrew his invitation to his daughter Ivanka Trump as a speaker after Trump’s statements about the protesters.
In the statement made by the university, it was stated that this invitation was “timeless” among the “social injustice” problems that came up with the death of George Floyd.
Ivanka Trump, in a statement on his Twitter account, reacted to the cancellation of his speech.
Trump said, “Our campuses should be the bastion of freedom of expression. Revocation culture and perspective discrimination is against academic circles. Listening to each other is now more important than ever. ”
Our nation’s campuses should be bastions of free speech. Cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination are antithetical to academia.
Listening to one another is important now more than ever!https://t.co/VW6W8TIL9c
