The Stories feature, which was first used by Snapchat, is now actively used in mobile versions of websites as well as applications such as Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Twitter announced that it will adapt it in a different way with its temporary tweet feature.
In fact, the only common point between Stories and Twitter’s new feature is that they disappear after 24 hours. As it can be understood from its name, “Fleets”, which is being tested in Brazil, or the temporary tweet named Filolar in Turkish, will allow users to throw tweets that disappear after 24 hours.
Stories feature comes to Twitter! Temporary tweet with Twitter fleets!
The only difference between fleets compared to a normal tweet is that they disappear after 24 hours. It is not possible to like, reply or retweet them in any way. More importantly, it will be partially closed to the general.
To explain with examples: these shares will not be available through the search results or moments, that is, temporary tweets will not circulate across the platform. It will not be embedded / placed on websites.
So how will people see? Someone who does not follow you will need to enter your profile and click on that area to see your fleets, that is, your temporary tweets. There will be a section showing the profile pictures at the top as we are used to from Instagram. You can see the posts made by clicking here.
As with Instagram Stories, you will be able to interact with the person sharing about fleets by responding via DM or leaving emoji. In this way, Twitter will offer the first solution for delivering its shares to the audiences it has been working on for a long time.
