The voice of Sharon Van Etten and Queens of the Stone Age, Joshua Homme, is in a collaboration that fulfills our pleasure in quarantine days. Homme, one of the artists who both had active times, joined forces with Iggy Pop in March and published the documentary American Valhalla; Van Etten released a new single after 2019 long Remind Me Tomorrow and contributed to Never Rarely Sometimes Always soundtrack.
Now, the duo has covered the song called “What’s So Funny‘ Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding, popularized by Elvis Costello and the Attractions. The star of the track, written by Nick Lowe in 1974, glowed in Armed Forces, the album’s ’79 ‘album. After the fast-paced interpretation of Costello, the slow and nostalgic duet of Homme and Van Etten stands closer to the original of Lowe as the atmosphere.
