Xiaomi’s Redmi brand was in silence after releasing a teaser last month for its new monster. Today, it has been officially announced that the Redmi K40 series smartphones will be launched in China on February 25. Even the price of the phone was announced with the announcement.
The K40 model will be available in China for 2.999 yuan, or about $ 450. The phone, which will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, will be the most affordable 2021 flagship model ever offered for sale.
Redmi also approved the AMOLED display for the K40 series. Earlier rumors revealed a 120Hz Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a center hole of approximately 2.8mm for the K40 Pro. Probably these rumors will come true. It is said that there will be a battery with a capacity of more than 4000 mAh in the phone.
Some rumors suggest that the K40’s main model will arrive with the Snapdragon 870 chipset. The price of this model will be 1,999 yuan, approximately $ 300. The high-end K40 Pro model is expected to come with a 108MP quad rear camera and pack up to 12GB of RAM.
More details will come from Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, in the coming days. That’s why it makes the most sense to stay on hold for now.
The K40 series is expected to be available for the first time in China and, towards the end of March, for the European market.
