The world’s largest smartphone maker has long been Samsung. Samsung, which offers both lower and middle level products compared to Apple, is able to hold the leadership in this way. However, large firms like Apple and Samsung are threatened by Chinese-based firms such as Huawei and Xiaomi. According to the latest reports, Europe’s biggest phone brand has been announced.
Manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo, are the rulers of the Chinese market. However, these producers also began to threaten the European and American markets.
Europe’s biggest phone brand is Samsung
According to the report of the market research firm Canalys, Samsung became the largest smartphone brand in Western Europe in the first quarter of 2020. With 37 percent market share, Samsung has outperformed smartphone manufacturers such as Apple, Xiaomi and Huawei, however, suffers from blood loss. When we look at the sales figures in the first quarter of 2019, Samsung has experienced a 21 percent market loss compared to last year. This is of course valid for Europe. The Galaxy A51 is the third best-selling smartphone in the world.
While the biggest phone brand in Europe was Samsung, the brand with the biggest decrease was Huawei. This is probably due to the firm’s disputes with Google. Many users do not want to buy a new Huawei phone because it does not contain Google services. However, with the development of HMS, this situation may reverse in the coming years.
The sales of the Galaxy S20 series have been disappointing so far. After the record sale (80 million) of the Galaxy S4 in 2013, sales of the Galaxy S series started to decrease every year. Still, despite the $ 1,380 price tag, the Galaxy Z Flip had a bigger explosion than Samsung had predicted. For this reason, Samsung plans to release more foldable phones in the future. The Galaxy Fold 2 model, which is planned to be introduced with the Note 20 series, is also a sign.
