THE CINEMAS HAVE BEEN CLOSED FOR MONTHS AND THE VIEW DOES NOT LOOK GOOD
Cinemas received a great impact due to covid-19, since in some countries they have been closed for months and without new premieres to offer.

Although they found an option to offer their confectionery products through delivery applications, the revenue generated must be much less than that of a normal opening day.

Faced with this scenario, director Christopher Nolan warned that cinemas around the world are at risk of disappearing, and took the opportunity to ask the government for more support to rescue them.

DIRECTORS AND PRODUCERS REQUEST MORE SUPPORT FOR CINEMA

Being considered as points of contagion, several countries made the decision to close the doors of their cinemas during the pandemic, causing millions in losses to the industry.

Although there are already some vaccines in circulation, it does not seem that these establishments will open very soon, so their existence is at risk.

This was announced by Christopher Nolan, who, together with directors and producers, sent a letter to the UK government to request that it provide incentives to cinemas.

The billboards gave way to messages like these.
In this message, they acknowledge the support provided, but assure that it is not enough to keep the industry afloat.

“We recognize the support that the government has already provided, but we fear that it will not be enough, the most complicated challenges being for large theater operators that have not been able to access personalized financing.”

The letter ends by asking the UK government to support cinemas, because only in this way could it be guaranteed that the new generations continue to enjoy their magic.

The message from Christopher Nolan and the associate directors reflects the current state of the industry in several countries, where unfortunately several complexes may close.

Let’s hope that most cinemas manage to survive this pandemic, because we have had great moments in them that we yearn to live again.
