Masashi Kishimoto is a big fan of Akira Toriyama’s work and he showed it this way
One of the biggest franchises in the world is, without a doubt, Dragon Ball. This saga with almost 4 decades of publications is one of the longest in the history of anime and manga, so there are fans within the industry itself, such as Masashu Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto.
He decided to recreate one of the most famous Dragon Ball covers from the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. So, in the next issue of the magazine we will see this show of affection between two great mangakas. The original version of this cover corresponds to volume number 11 of the manga.
Why did the creator of Naruto make this Dragon Ball cover?
According to the Weekly Shonen Jump News, this cover celebrates 40 years of Dragon Ball.
This will be the first of many special covers. Masashi Kishimoto was honored to start this important celebration for the manga industry.

The original Dragon Ball cover was from volume 11 of the manga. Kishimoto probably wanted to recreate precisely that scene because it was the one he played when he was just a child. We hope to know soon what more artists will come to this incredible celebration. Not every saga turns 40.
