Mortal Kombat 11 News: NETHERREALM STUDIOS WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT THE CURRENT TITLE OF THE FRANCHISE
Without a doubt, Mortal Kombat 11 is one of the best fighting games today. NetherRealm Studios managed to balance the humor and violence so characteristic of this franchise with impeccable gameplay. However, after two years of service and updates, they will finally stop supporting to focus on their next installment.
This information was shared through their social networks and official accounts. So far, there are not many details about what title they refer to, whether it is a hypothetical Mortal Kombat 12 or a remake of a game in the franchise. Be that as it may, it is undeniable that it will meet the expectations of the public and critics.
YOU CAN STILL PLAY MORTAL KOMBAT 11
NetherRealm Studios’ announcement reads as follows: ‘NetherRealm is now focusing on its next project, after more than two years supporting Mortal Kombat 11. DLCs for the game, including characters, have come to an end’. This only means that there will be no more news.
However, you will be able to continue playing online through the servers that are still available.
In fact, Ed Boon, the creator of the franchise said a couple of weeks ago with ironic tone that Mortal Kombat 11 will run on Windows 11, Microsoft’s new and long-awaited operating system.
But what is the project in hand that NetherRealm Studios is going to concentrate on now? There are some clues that will indicate the future of the franchise.
Ed Boon himself recently conducted a poll on his Twitter about which remaster would like to see his fans back. And, one that took the poll with close to 70,000 votes out of the nearly 150,000 he received was Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.
This does not mean that we will see this video game again, but that it is within the interests of the creator of the franchise. Will they hear the voice of their audience again? Let’s wait for an official announcement about it.
