Ethereum whales continue to accumulate large portions. Tyler Winklevoss stated that buying ETH at this price is like stealing.
Tyler Winklevoss, co-founder and CEO of the crypto exchange Gemini and one of the first Bitcoin adopters, pointed out that the second largest cryptocurrency is still about 50% away from its all-time high.
Winklevoss: Buying ETH Now Is Stealing
Ethereum is one of the best performing cryptocurrencies in this difficult year. Whether it’s the DeFi frenzy or the long-awaited launch of ETH 2.0, the asset rose by nearly 500% from $ 130 in early 2020 to a recent YTD high of $ 760.
Despite rising significantly more than BTC in percentage terms, ETH was unable to move in the same way as Bitcoin while reaching its all-time high.
In fact, Ether is still far from its highest level, which was marked as $ 1,450 in January 2018.
Tyler Winklevoss classified the option to buy ETH at this level as a “steal”. Winklevoss compared this situation to buying BTC for $ 14,000.
