OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 8 cell phones and now allows anyone to unbox the devices – or almost so. Using Instagram’s filter system, the company launched an augmented reality experience to bring smartphones virtually to your home.
To make your own virtual unboxing of OnePlus 8 and 8 Plus, just have Instagram installed on your phone and visit the profile of OnePlus or OnePlus India on the social network. When entering one of the accounts, open the filters division, identified with a face with little stars.
The manufacturer provided experiences in augmented reality with the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. To join the game, it is necessary to click on the filter in question and click on “Experiment”. Thus, the application will use your cell phone camera to simulate the unboxing of the devices.
The augmented reality filter allows you to open the cell phone case and pass the steps of the unboxing by clicking on the screen. The system also lets the smartphone and its accessories rotate to check the complete design of each component present in the packaging.
So far, OnePlus’ virtual experience is the only way for consumers to “get their hands on” the brand’s new phones. The Chinese manufacturer will begin distributing the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro from April 29 in certain markets, including the United States. As usual, there is no forecast for the arrival of the brand’s devices in Brazil, which possibly will only receive the products through export.
