Software giant Microsoft has updated the Windows 10 taskbar for users to follow the weather and current news in a practical way.

Announced in April, the new taskbar feature for Windows 10 called “News and Interests” is now available with the KB5001391 update of the operating system.

The new feature, available for Windows 10 2004 and 20H2, consists of a news feed integrated directly into the taskbar, allowing you to get the latest news, weather and temperature without going to the browser. According to Microsoft’s statements, the news to be displayed here will come from more than 4,500 sources such as the BBC, CNN and Fox News.

The news feed can be customized

However, it was pointed out that this function is not available to everyone. Most likely, in the coming weeks, the company will enable this functionality remotely for more devices. This slow update allows Microsoft to monitor any errors it encounters. At the same time, if you don’t need such a news widget, you can easily disable it directly from the taskbar by right clicking and selecting the appropriate item.

However, if you are not sure about turning this feature off, you can customize it. For example, you can choose whether you want to see more or less similar content in the future by clicking on a particular news story. It is also possible to hide various news and news sources.
